Peer to peer or instant
On a peer to peer board you are dealing with another person. The exchange holds the coin while
the naira moves and releases it once both sides confirm. The price is better because nobody is taking a spread
in the middle, and it costs you a few extra minutes and some care about who you trade with.
An instant exchange sets one price and fills it immediately. There is nobody to talk to and
nothing to confirm. You pay for that in the rate, and on the board above the difference is usually plain to see.
Before a large trade
Check the merchant's completed order count and the limits on the offer. An excellent rate attached to a small
maximum is not an excellent rate for a large amount, and splitting one large trade across three merchants often
ends up worse than simply taking the second best price in one go.
How to compare two offers properly
Compare the price, the available order size and the payment method together. A quote that is only available for
a tiny amount should not be treated as the best price for a larger order. Also remember that a P2P offer and an
instant quote are different products, so a small price gap can be the cost of convenience rather than a mistake.
What to check before opening an offer
- Confirm the exchange domain and use the exchange's own login page.
- Read the offer's minimum and maximum amount before starting a trade.
- Check the payment method and whether the merchant's terms match your situation.
- For P2P, review completed orders and feedback before choosing a counterparty.
- After payment, rely on the exchange's account balance and transaction status, not a screenshot.
